Health Insurance
All Summer School students, both residents and nonresidents, are required to have health insurance against major illness and accidents. Students who do not have such coverage with a United States carrier must purchase it through the Summer School. The premium for this insurance is $110, and it will be automatically included on the student's bill. It will be waived for students who already have domestic health insurance, provided they indicate on their Summer School registration that they have coverage. Summer School insurance does not entitle nonresident students to use the University Health Services, but it does pay for covered services at nearby hospitals and clinics, including Mt. Auburn Hospital. Students who are enrolled in Study Abroad Programs or NELC S-140 outside the US and who purchase insurance through the Summer School are covered by an international health insurance policy. No students will be enrolled in or withdrawn from the insurance plan after July 2. Questions concerning health insurance may be directed to Student Financial Services, (617) 495-4024.
