Harvard University Students

Degree and certificate candidates in Harvard College, Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Harvard Extension School may count certain Summer School courses toward their programs. Since the rules on Harvard course credit differ from school to school, degree and certificate candidates should read the appropriate section below and consult with an advisor in their program.

Any violation of Harvard Summer School academic or disciplinary policy is subject to review and disciplinary action by the Summer School Administrative Board and in addition may trigger similar action by the school at Harvard in which the student is enrolled as a degree or certificate candidate. Similarly, the Administrative Board reserves the right to refuse registration to students who have been required to withdraw from other Harvard schools. Students should consult the 2006 student handbook for more information on disciplinary policy.

Henry Leitner“I taught the very first computer science courses at Harvard Summer School way back in 1978. There's a lot that keeps me coming back year after year to teach at the Summer School. The main motivating factor, without question, is the incredible students.”
Henry Leitner teaches CSCI S-1 Great Ideas in Computer Science and CSCI S-111a Intensive Introduction to Computer Science Using Java.
