International Students
Notice: I-20 application deadline extended to May 7
Harvard Summer School welcomes international students from abroad, as well as those who are currently studying at other US colleges and universities. International students make up nearly a quarter of the total Summer School student population and represent approximately 100 nationalities and cultures. The quality of the educational experience at the Summer School is enhanced each year by the diversity these students bring to the Harvard community.
International students who want to acquire or improve English language skills should register for one of the Institute for English Language Programs (IEL). Local students who do not need an F-1 student visa may register for courses in the part-time IEL Evening Program. Students whose primary language is not English who register for courses that are not in an IEL program must meet the English proficiency requirement.
International students who attend the Summer School while on visas of any kind must comply with Massachusetts immunization regulations and submit Form IM (download* form) by June 11.
International student check-in. Students with I-20 certificates issued by the Summer School must check in with the International Office before picking up their Summer School ID cards. See the eight-week session and short session calendars.
