Transportation

Harvard University’s libraries, museums, and athletic facilities are within walking distance of residences and classrooms. The University is located six miles (9.5 km) from Logan International Airport and five miles (8 km) from downtown Boston. Transportation to and from the airport is available by taxi or by public transit. Public transportation in the Boston area is convenient and affordable ($1.25 to $2 for bus and subway services to most destinations).

Climate

New England weather can change quickly and dramatically. In Cambridge, summers are usually warm and sunny, with occasional spells of high heat and humidity; but there can be many cool nights, some unseasonably cool days, and rain.

Time zone

Harvard is on eastern standard time. Therefore, when Greenwich mean time (London, England) is 9 pm, the time in Cambridge is 4 pm.
