On-Campus Housing

This page contains content from the Summer School 2009. For current information, visit the Harvard Summer School website at www.summer.harvard.edu.

On-campus housing is available in Harvard College dormitories and undergraduate houses for $4,250 for the seven-week session. Many dormitories are more than a century old, and recent renovations have made them more comfortable while maintaining their historic ambience.

Living with students from around the world

Most buildings have suites of 2 or 4 bedrooms with a common room. Some suites have a private bath, and some share a bath. Other buildings contain rooms off a hallway with a shared bath. While the buildings are coed, suites are single sex. Your roommates come from the United States or abroad. Often, English-speaking students live with students whose primary language is not English. Because getting to know new people is a valuable part of the Summer School, roommate requests cannot be honored.

Harvard students are your guides

Harvard College undergraduate and graduate students serve as resident proctors. Living in the dormitories, they keep general order and help you adjust to college life by advising you, suggesting cultural and recreational activities, and guiding you around Boston and Cambridge.

See Resident Staff for more information.

Housing eligibility

Secondary School Program students are required to live on campus or with their families. Students enrolled only in Institute for English Language evening courses, mathematics for teaching courses, or GMAT S-1 Mathematics Review for the GMAT and GRE are not eligible for on-campus housing. There is no housing for couples or children.

Immunizations

If you live on campus, you must comply with Massachusetts immunization regulations and submit Form IM by Tuesday, May 26.

Dining

The housing fee includes a meal plan. As an on-campus resident, you dine in Annenberg Hall and enjoy menus that reflect the international character of the Summer School. Meals are served three times a day, seven days a week, beginning with the evening meal on Saturday, June 20, and ending with the evening meal on Friday, August 7. You also have the option to open a Crimson Cash debit account for various on-campus and off-campus purchases.

Questions about accommodating dietary requirements may be directed to Dining Services, (617) 495-5555.
