Applying summer courses to Extension programs
Some Summer School courses may be taken for credit toward Harvard Extension School degree and certificate programs.
Requirements
- All Summer School instructors count as Harvard instructors for the purpose of fulfilling degree and certificate requirements.
- Summer School courses may be included in the three courses required for admission to degree and certificate programs.
- All Master of Liberal Arts and certificate courses must be taken for graduate credit.
- If you are a degree or certificate candidate, you may not enroll in more than 8 credits during Summer School 2009 unless you obtain prior written approval from your program advisor.
- Master of Liberal Arts candidates: download a thesis continuation form and internship continuation form.
Financial aid
Admitted degree, certificate, and health careers candidates may apply for financial aid for the summer term. Financial aid for summer may include the Federal Pell Grant (undergraduate degree candidates only), Federal Direct Stafford Loans, and the Harvard Summer School Scholarship (scholarships pay the tuition of one 4-credit course). The priority deadline for submission of a complete application is Sunday, March 1. Complete applications received by this deadline will be considered for the Harvard Summer School Scholarship.
