Harvard University offers its students a free shuttle bus that travels to many areas around the University, including the Radcliffe Quad, Harvard Business School, and many of the houses along the Charles River. For a schedule and a map of the stops, see Harvard Transportation Services website.
The Harvard Square stop on the Red Line of the MBTA subway system is across the street from Harvard Yard.
Note that parking in Cambridge is extremely limited.
Driving from South of Boston: Take I-93 North to exit 26 (Cambridge/Storrow Drive). Keep left at the end of the ramp and take the underpass to Storrow Drive. (Do not follow the Cambridge signs.) Continue along the river on Storrow Drive West for approximately 4 miles. You will pass the Massachusetts Avenue/Cambridge exit on the right and the Doubletree Guest Suites Hotel on the left. Directly after the hotel and underpass you will see an exit on the right marked Harvard Square/Cambridge. Turn right at the top of the ramp onto John F. Kennedy Street. Harvard Square is approximately 1/2 mile straight ahead.
Driving from North of Boston: Take I-93 South to exit 26 (Storrow Drive/North Station). Keep left at the end of the ramp and take the underpass to Storrow Drive. (Do not follow the Cambridge signs.) Continue along the river on Storrow Drive West for approximately 4 miles. You will pass the Massachusetts Avenue/Cambridge exit on the right and the Doubletree Guest Suites Hotel on the left. Driving from West of Boston: Take I-90 East (Mass Turnpike) to exit 18 (Cambridge/Allston). Bear right after the tollbooth at the end of exit ramp. Turn left after the lights (before the bridge) onto Storrow Drive West. Continue along the river on Storrow Drive West for approximately 1 mile. You will see an exit on the right marked Harvard Square/Cambridge. Turn right at the top of the ramp onto John F. Kennedy Street. Harvard Square is approximately 1/2 mile straight ahead.
Driving from Logan Airport: Exit Logan Airport and follow the signs to Boston, which will bring you to the Sumner Tunnel. At the end of the tunnel, take a wide right and go up the ramp onto I-93 North. Stay on that for only two exits. Keep left at the end of ramp and take the underpass to Storrow Drive. (Do not follow the Cambridge signs.) Continue along the river on Storrow Drive West for approximately 4 miles. You will pass the Massachusetts Avenue/Cambridge exit on the right and the Doubletree Guest Suites Hotel on the left. Directly after the hotel and underpass you will see an exit on the right marked Harvard Square/Cambridge. Turn right at the top of the ramp onto John F. Kennedy Street. Harvard Square is approximately 1/2 mile straight ahead.

Boston’s Logan International Airport is the largest airport near Harvard Summer School, located less than 10 miles from Cambridge.
Several smaller airports are nearby. T. F. Green Airport is approximately 60 miles from Cambridge in Providence, Rhode Island. Manchester Boston Regional Airport is approximately 50 miles north of Cambridge in Manchester, New Hampshire.
