Harvard Summer School offers a rich schedule of free films and concerts, social gatherings, and lectures, as well as opportunities (for a modest fee) to travel to Cape Cod, Tanglewood (summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra), Newport (Rhode Island) mansions, and Maine beaches and shopping centers.

Just for SSP students

There are several activities specifically for secondary school students.

Athletics

Many Harvard athletic facilities offer a place for SSP students to play team sports, swim, and exercise throughout the summer. You can also participate in intramural soccer, basketball, and volleyball teams, as well as a tennis tournament and a swim meet.

Musical opportunities

SSP students are also welcome to audition for the Summer School Chorus and Summer School Orchestra. You can also play in the Summer Pops Band, which is open without audition.

Learn more about these and other Summer School activities at the Activities Fair, held on the Sunday of Opening Weekend.
