Arrival and ID Cards

This page contains content from the Summer School 2009. For current information, visit the Harvard Summer School website at www.summer.harvard.edu.

Once you are registered, attend to the following tasks to prepare for the summer term.

1. Plan to attend Opening Weekend, June 20 and 21.

You should arrive and check in during Opening Weekend. The summer term lasts seven weeks, ending with your final exams (see the final exam schedule). Dorms close at noon on Saturday, August 8.

2. Review your course information.

3. Buy your textbooks.

Course materials are listed in syllabi and on course websites, and instructors outline materials at the first class meeting. The Harvard Coop bookstore in Harvard Square carries textbooks and fulfills online orders.

4. Open your Harvard University computer/e-mail account.

Beginning in June, you can visit Activate Your FAS Computer Account and follow the instructions to open your account.

5. Verify your contact information online.

Log in to online services and make sure the following are on file and are correct: your local mailing address, e-mail address, and emergency contact information.

6. Bring your passport or a photo ID card with you to Harvard.

You must present some form of photo identification (for example, passport or driver’s license) to pick up your Summer School ID card.

7. Stay informed so you can enjoy your summer.

Read about summer activities and campus resources. And be aware of all academic policies (detailed online and in the student handbook).
