Study Abroad Programs

Study abroad with Harvard this summer

Choose from over 20 locations, in fields ranging from anthropology to neurology, and economics to the humanities.

Expect a true Harvard experience, engage your intellectual curiosity with Harvard faculty, and study in a range of academic fields.

Harvard study abroad programs are both demanding and rewarding. Unlike many study opportunities abroad, our programs are led exclusively by faculty, ensuring the same Harvard-quality education students encounter on campus in Cambridge. Programs span 5 to 10 weeks and are limited enrollment.

Enjoy a summer of challenge and discovery

Study abroad exposes you to new ways of living, learning, and interacting. You may find yourself navigating new cultural encounters, experiencing new foods, different customs, and unfamiliar domestic patterns—and doing all of this in a new language. Explore the programs list at right to learn about what you can expect.

Harvard College students are also invited to learn more about the programs at various study abroad events.

Earn college credit

All programs are 8 credits, and the credits are accepted toward degrees at Harvard College and most other colleges and universities. See Study Abroad Credit Information for details.

Cost

The cost ranges from $5,000 to $7,500. The expenses covered vary among programs, but in most cases the fee includes tuition, lodging, some meals, scheduled excursions, and extracurricular activities. Harvard College students are eligible for funding. See How to Pay for details.
