Harvard’s Institute for English Language Programs (IEL) welcomes students from around the world who wish to improve their English skills.
If you live outside the United States and wish to come to Harvard for the summer to study English, Harvard Summer School's intensive programs provide opportunities to study English full time. You attend classes Monday through Friday, and you may live on campus. As a student in an intensive program, you are eligible for an I-20 certificate issued by the Summer School for an F-1 visa.
If you live in the Boston area and want to take an evening class to improve your English, this program has a variety of courses that meet on campus two times each week.
The Summer School offers an English language program for high school students who are in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade.
Full information about 2010 programs, including registration instructions, dates, visa guidelines, and costs, will be available in late January. Programs will be similar to those offered in 2009. Read about last year’s English language programs.
