Distance Education Courses
You can take a Harvard Summer School online course from anywhere in the world.
Most of our online courses feature videos of lectures held on the Harvard campus. You watch the video when and where you choose, and complete scheduled assignments. Some have both online and on-campus options. So if you live nearby, you may attend classes in person or watch lectures online, or both. Watch a sample online class.
Several live web-conference courses are held online at a specified class time using the program Elluminate/Blackboard Collaborate. There are no videos.
Transfer credit. The Summer School does not offer online degrees. But online course credit can be transferred to many schools. Harvard College students: visit the Harvard College Academic Credit page about credit for on-campus courses with a distance option.
