LATI S-Aab Beginning Latin (31870)

Class times: Mondays-Fridays, 10 am-noon and 1-3 pm.

Course tuition: noncredit and undergraduate credit $5,400.

Limited enrollment.

This course is designed for highly motivated students with little or no previous instruction in Latin who are seriously interested in making quick progress in the language. The course covers basic grammar and offers practice in reading continuous prose. (8 credits)

This course is a reading and discussion of Virgil's Aeneid, with attention to its place in the epic tradition and its status as a work of Augustan literature. Prerequisite: one year of college Latin. (4 credits)
