Health Insurance Fee

All Harvard Summer School students, both US residents and nonresidents, are required to have health insurance that covers major illnesses and accidents within the United States.

If you do not have such coverage with a US carrier, you must purchase it through the Summer School. Coverage is provided by HTH Worldwide.

Cost, enrollment, and waiver

The $195 premium is automatically charged unless you waive the insurance by Thursday, June 28. You may not enroll in or withdraw from the insurance plan after June 28.

To waive the health insurance before June 28 either:

Summer School insurance does not entitle students not living in on-campus housing to use the medical services at University Health Services. Students not living on campus should visit a nearby hospital or clinic, such as Mt. Auburn Hospital, if necessary.

Insurance cards

Once you are enrolled in the Harvard Summer School health insurance plan, you will receive an e-mail notification from HTH Worldwide with instructions on how to obtain your insurance card. Be sure to review this e-mail as it is the only notification you will receive about your insurance card.

Insurance for study abroad programs

If you are participating in a study abroad program, you must have insurance that covers major illnesses and accidents abroad. If you do not have this insurance, you must purchase it through the Summer School.
