Cash
The Summer School accepts cash payments in person at Student Financial Services during regular business hours (Mondays through Wednesdays and Fridays, 9 am to 5 pm; Thursdays, 10:30 am to 5 pm). Please do not send cash through the mail.
Checks
The Summer School accepts bank checks, money orders, personal checks, and company checks made payable to Harvard Summer School. Checks must be drawn on a US bank and include proper routing numbers. Any bank collection charges are your responsibility.
If you submit a check drawn on a bank account other than your own, you must include your name and the month and day of your birth on the check.
If your check is returned unpaid by your bank for insufficient funds, stopped payment, or account closure, you are assessed a $25 charge per returned check. Checks may be converted and processed using the Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network, under the rules governed by the National Automated Clearing House Association and the Federal Reserve Bank.
ACH and wire transfers
For payments drawn on foreign banks, the Summer School recommends a wire transfer. Please note that while funds may leave your bank immediately, international wire transfers can take 3 to 4 weeks to be received by Harvard’s bank. You should send wire payments no later than Friday, April 20, to meet the May 21 deadline for full payment. If the wire payment is not received by May 21, you will be charged a nonrefundable $200 late fee. Once received, funds are posted to your student account. Use the following information and transmittal instructions:
Student name (as used to register) Month and day of birth (example: June 23)
Harvard University Account number 000000172448 Bank of America 100 Federal Street Boston, Massachusetts 02110

Harvard University Tuition Assistance Plan (TAP)
If you are a Harvard University staff member on the regular payroll, you are eligible for TAP if you have worked at least 17.5 hours a week since April 1. You pay $40 per course ($80 for an 8-credit course), for a maximum of 2 courses per term.
Study abroad, ANTH S-1135, NELC S-140, and Harvard Division of Continuing Education professional development programs are not covered by TAP.
You are encouraged to register online. If you have not previously registered for Extension or Summer School courses, please register online as a new student. Your name and date of birth must match exactly the name on record with the Benefits Office. After you choose your courses, select “Apply TAP” to complete the TAP benefit form. Your TAP benefit will be automatically credited to your tuition charges during the online payment process.
Course changes
If your TAP benefit has been applied to a course that you would now like to change, you must drop the original course before adding the new course to avoid being charged the tuition for the new course. See the course and credit status change deadlines.
If you are unable to register online, call Student Financial Services at (617) 495-4293.
Register by Monday, May 21, to avoid late registration fee charges. You are responsible for paying the $200 late registration fee if you register during the late registration period, May 22 to Thursday, June 28. TAP fees are nonrefundable unless a course is canceled. If you have questions about TAP eligibility, call the Benefits Services Group at (617) 496-4001.

Veterans may be eligible to receive education benefits. All questions regarding eligibility should be directed to the Veterans Administration at (888) 442-4551.
