How to Register
Register online March 1–May 21
For the fastest service, register online now with a credit card payment of the $50 nonrefundable registration fee and $200 deposit. The deposit is applied toward your total Summer School charges.
If you cannot register online, download and submit a registration form. Allow enough time for the form to be received by the May 21 deadline.
To confirm your registration:
- Log in or create an account.
- Select “Course Registration and Schedule” from the main menu.
- Select “View Course Schedule.”
Full payment due no later than May 21
Full payment of tuition and fees must be made online or received at 51 Brattle Street by May 21. If it is not, your housing request will be canceled, you will be dropped from unapproved course overloads and all limited-enrollment courses, and you will be charged a nonrefundable $200 late payment fee.
Why register early?
-
If you are an international student requesting an I-20 certificate, you must register full time and meet all other I-20 requirements by May 7.
-
Limited-enrollment courses fill quickly, so register early for the best choices.
-
You can get your Harvard ID number and PIN early. Beginning in mid-March, you will be assigned a Harvard ID number if you are registered for at least 1 course. Use your Harvard ID number to request a Harvard PIN, activate your Harvard e-mail account, upload your ID card photo, and more.
-
Housing is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. To be eligible, you must register for courses, request housing, and pay in full by May 21, pending housing availability.
-
Avoid the $200 late registration fee charge. If you register for at least 1 course and pay in full by May 21, you can add courses without the late fee and drop courses for a full-tuition refund until June 28. If you register for the first time after May 21, you are charged a nonrefunable $200 late registration fee.
Late registration with $200 late fee
If you register between Tuesday, May 22, and Thursday, June 28, full payment of tuition and fees, including a nonrefundable $200 late registration fee, is required when you register. Many limited-enrollment courses will be closed by the time late registration begins. On-campus housing is not available to students who register late.
If you register late, you still are expected to be on campus, attend your first class meetings (or participate online if you are taking a course via distance), and do all required coursework. Instructors may refuse late registration to students who miss the first class. Late work may be submitted only with instructor approval and according to instructor policies.
